WHERE ARE KAPSOURA CANDLES MANUFACTURED?

Our candles are all handcrafted, labelled, packaged, and hand poured in small batches in our Melbourne studio using locally sourced materials. We strive to support local businesses while selecting the right materials to produce our specialities.

DOES KAPSOURA TEST ON ANIMALS?

Kapsoura is a cruelty-free and vegan candle company. Kapsoura and our suppliers do not test on animals.

WHAT TYPE OF WAX DO YOU USE?

Kapsoura uses an Australian coconut soy blend wax for our scented vessel candles, and our sculptural decorative candles are created with an Australian vegetable wax. Each candle is infused with essential & premium fragrance oils, each one designed to take you on an olfactory journey.

CAN I GET SOME SAMPLES BEFORE PURCHASING A CANDLE?

Kapsoura does not send out samples upon request. However, you can purchase our discovery set of 8 petit 20g candles, handcrafted with our signature scents.

IS YOUR PACKAGING SUSTAINABLE?
Yes! Our products are either biodegradable, recycled or reusable
CAN MY CANDLE JAR BE REUSED?
Absolutely! We designed our vessels to be repurposed once your candle has burned through.
Our glass vessels are perfect for storing makeup brushes, eye & lip pencils, nail clippers & files, pens, pencils, cotton tips, cotton rounds and can even be used as a vase.
To clean and reuse your Kapsoura vessel, gently scrape out any excess dried wax and hand wash with warm soapy water. Show us how you repurpose! #kapsourarepurposed
MY MERCHANDISE WAS DAMAGED WHEN I RECEIVED IT, CAN I GET A NEW PRODUCT?
When your order arrives, please inspect the package for damage that may have occurred during shipment. It is common for shipping packages to show some wear, however, if substantial damage has occurred to the product(s) in your shipment, please take sufficient photos of the damage for us to verify. If the product is damaged we will organise for a replacement of the same product previously purchased to be sent out to you, complimentary.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL?
If your order has been taken into account you will quickly receive a conformation email with your order number. It may happen that your confirmation email is automatically filed in your "junk folder" If you cannot find your confirmation email, please reach out to us and we will look into this for you.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY CANDLE?
Upon the first burn, trim wick 5 - 7mm and allow the candle to burn until the melt pool reaches the edge of the vessel. (usually 4 - 5 hours),
Wax has "memory" so the first burn will influence how it burns for the remainder of its life.
By allowing your candle to obtain a "memory burn" you are increasing the burn time of your candle and allowing the melt pool to reach the edges increases it's scent throw.
Additionally, at each lighting you should trim the wick 5 - 7mm.
For best results, please use your candle following the instructions in the candle care guide that takes place with every purchase.
WHY ARE THERE WEIRD SPOTS ON MY CANDLE JAR?
"Wet spots" are what us chandlers like to call them, are merely cosmetic, they do not affect the burn, or the scent throw of the candle. Wet spots occur when the wax pulls away from the vessels edge. The science is relatively simple: wax expands when it heats up, and contracts as it cools. Candles usually go through "micro" temperature changes throughout their life. Anytime the temperature changes, candle wax risks pulling away from the sides of the vessel. This can happen during curing, shipping, and storing the candle, and preventing it is nearly impossible. Adhesion issues are completely unavoidable since their cause is primarily due to the environment. 
WHAT DOES KAPSOURA MEAN?
(Kap - soo - ra) A burning desire.
There is no English word that captures the extent of passion and desire that Kapsoura evokes. In Greek, the word denotes the kind of love that burns so ardently that it threatens to consume itself.
